Margaret “Annie” (Miller) Stewart, 72, left this world for Heaven on Friday, February 7, 2025, after a sudden illness. She was born July 16, 1952. Annie was the daughter of the late Charles and Velvet Fern Miller of Horse Creek, WV. Annie was married to James “Butch” Troy Stewart of Peach Tree, WV for 53 years and they resided in Glen Daniel, WV. Annie’s in-laws were the late Troy and Lottie Stewart of Peach Tree, WV. Annie graduated from Marsh Fork Bulldogs High School in Montcoal, WV where she was active in Prom, Newspaper Staff, Broadcaster Office, Chess Club, Library Aide, Annual Staff, Choir and Pep Club. Prior to retirement, Annie was a Human Resources Supervisor for more than two decades. Annie is survived by four siblings: Joe Eddie Miller (spouse Mary Ann) of Sheffield Lake, Ohio; Robert Lee Miller (spouse Tressie) and Dale Miller (spouse JoAlice) both of Horse Creek, WV, and Louella Miller Settie (spouse Bob) of Wooster, Ohio. She was preceded in death by four siblings: Louise Miller Varney, Lucille Miller, Debbie Mae Miller and Charles Freddie Miller. Annie and Butch has four children: Daniel Ray Stewart (Deceased); David Lee Stewart (spouse Trish) of Huntington, WV; Tracey Ann Barker (spouse David) of Glen Daniel, WV; and Michelle Dawn Scarbro (spouse Brian) of South Carolina. Annie has seven grandchildren: Alex Stewart; Aaron Vaughn (spouse Summer); Nicholas Barker (spouse Natalie); and Tiffani Dixon (spouse Zeb); Brianna Scarbro; Austin Scarbro; and Miranda Small (spouse Jordan). Her great-grandchildren are Jase and Evelyn Vaughn, Nora Barker, Everley Brooke Small and Nolan Lee Small, all of whom she loved with all her heart. Annie’s niece, Denise Rangel, and Denise’s husband, Doug, were like a daughter and son to her who Annie loved dearly. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Annie is preceded in death by one Great-grandchild, Aurora Grace Vaughn. Annie and Butch are members of Fairdale Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor, Dean Adams. Annie was baptized by Dean in May 2004. Annie enjoyed spending time with Butch tending to their vegetable and flower gardens, taking care of their honeybees and harvesting honey and caring for their pet beagles. Annie loved cooking making everything from scratch including soups, stews, desserts and of course, macaroni and cheese for all church social functions. She enjoyed reading books, Bible study and watching westerns alongside Butch. Annie had numerous friends within the community and loved talking with them and seeing them while out shopping/running errands. Annie did not realize the last time she left her home would be the last time she was there. Her loving spirit surrounds us all and her contagious laughter would brighten any room she entered. Funeral services will be held at Fairdale Freewill Baptist Church on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at 12 o'clock, noon with Pastor Dean Adams officiating. Interment will follow in Annie's Cemetery in Glen Daniel, WV. The visitation will be Wednesday, February 12, 2025, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church.
