Benny Thomas Crum

Benny Thomas Crum, 76, of Whitesville, WV, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2022 at the Genesis Center in Marmet, WV, following a long illness. Born July 16, 1946 at Cabin Creek, WV, he was the son of the late Luther and Marie Crum of Chesapeake, WV. He was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Crum; a brother, "Sonny" Crum, and a sister, Judy August. Left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife of 52 years, Gail Crum of Whitesville, WV; daughter Crystal Roles and fiancé Judd Townsend of Connelly Springs, NC; granddaughter Kristen (Kenny) Dellinger of Hickory, NC, grandson Jacob Roles and fiancé Debbi Albright of Hickory, NC, granddaughters Lyndsey Stanley and Analisa Crum of Naoma, WV; great granddaughter Gemma Dellinger of Hickory, NC; brothers Rowdy (Fefe) McCall of Goose Creek, SC, John (Debbie) Crum of Palm Bay, FL, Dr. Ron (Phyllis) Crum of Griffin, GA; sisters Sandi Thompson of South Charleston, WV, Frances (Darrell) Preece of St. Albans, WV, and Debra Harless of St. Albans, WV; many cousins that he grew up with as well as many nieces and nephews that dearly loved their Uncle Benny. Benny was a retired coal miner and proud member of UMWA Local 6608 of Sundial, WV, and former manager of the Mountain Terrace Apartments of Whitesville, WV. He was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was a kind soul with a generous heart and was a beloved friend to all that knew him. Funeral service will be at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at the Assembly of God Church, Dorothy, WV. Visitation will begin two hours prior to the service. Officiating will be his brother, Dr. Ron Crum, Pastor Wayne Peters and Pastor Timmy Pettry. The comital ceremony will conclude the service at the church as Benny had chosen to be cremated. Armstrong Funeral Home of Whitesville, WV, is serving the Crum Family.
