Betty June Proctor

Betty June Proctor, born July 16, 1932, passed away peacefully in the presence of family on June 2, 2024.  Betty is survived by her daughter Carol R. Bays (Alan) and her son James H. Proctor (Melissa).   She has five grandchildren:  Rachel Elisabeth Jones (Matt), Russell Alan Bays (Elizabeth), Rebecca Ashley Bays, Dr. Johnathon Howard Proctor, and Bethany June Proctor.   She is blessed with nine great-grandchildren:  Logan, Thomas, Amy, Beth, Liam & Walter, Liam, Joseph, Emmaline, & Julia.  Betty was preceded in death by her husband of almost 65 years, Howard Shirls Proctor.  Betty was born in Whitesville, WV. She has lived in Sylvester since 1963 Betty enjoyed working, and especially her time employed at Mason’s IGA in Seth, WV.  She liked to read, cook, and can or freeze all that came from dad’s garden. In her later years, she especially enjoyed loving her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family is thankful for all the love & care extended to our mother, especially these last several years, by Gloria (Jeanne) Webb, Misty Bowyer, and Sue Westfall-Kisamore.  For understanding our mother’s many health challenges while caring for her, we especially thank Waylon Kincaid, PA. Betty confessed her faith in Christ & desire to spend eternity in heaven a few days before passing.  We are grateful she has peace now, body & spirit, & is enjoying the steadfast love of the Lord. “But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:21-23. A private graveside service will be held at Pineview Cemetery, Orgas, WV.  The family requests that condolences be made through donations to the Whitesville Volunteer Fire Department.
