Charles Dickens, 72, of Eunice, WV, went home to be with His Lord and Savior Monday, August 30, 2021, with his devoted wife, Sandra Kay by his side, after a long illness. He was known as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was best known for his lifelong dedication to serving Jesus with all of his heart, soul, mind, and strength and serving others selflessly. He was born on September 15, 1948, a son of the late Clinton and Frances Gillispie Dickens. He was also preceded by two brothers, Clifford and Jerry Dickens, two sisters, Thelma Dickens, and Betsy Loudermilk, and first wife, Rebecca Ann Williams-Dickens. He is survived by his wife of 7 years, Sandra Kay Dickens, one son, Charles Lee Dickens, two daughters, Sheila Dickens and husband Billy, Tammy Acord and husband Kelly, one step-daughter, Dianna Tincher and husband Donnie, eight grandchildren: Andrew Dickens and wife, Erika, Aaron Dickens and wife Abagail, Rebekah Richmond and husband Justin, Steven Dickens and wife Brianna, Maggie Dickens and fiancée, Cordell Parsons, Seth Acord, Abel Dickens, and Chelsea Runion and husband Rickey; ten great-grandchildren: Khloe, Kennedy, Kealei, Abigail, Bryson, Everly, Jayden Godric, Camden, Amelia, and Isabella; three brothers David Dickens and wife, Judy, James Ray and wife, Kay and Tommy Dickens and wife, Adeanna. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept. 3, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. in the Armstrong Funeral Home Whitesville, WV with Pastor Matt Epling officiating. Interment will follow in the Pineview Cemetery Orgas, WV. The visitation will be on Thursday evening from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.
