Dallas Ted Pettry

Dallas Ted Pettry, 70, of Rock Creek, WV lost his battle with Parkinson’s disease on Thursday, January 21, 2021. He was born on May 8, 1950, at Blue Pennant, WV. He was the son of Absolom and Ida (Bearfield) Pettry; birth mother, Georgia Dickens who preceded him in death along with brothers: Callas (Jack) Pettry, Carlos (Tootsie) Pettry, and John Dickens; his sisters, Lou Collins and Sugar Painter. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Joyce (Allen) Pettry of Rock Creek, WV; daughters: Tina Pettry and companion, Brian Jarrell of Naoma, WV, Heather (David) Sauls of Glen Daniel, WV, and Mickie (Chris) Green of Whitesville, WV; sisters: Wanda (Steve) Beller of Sycamore, WV, Mae (Danny) Thompson of Dorothy, WV, Kay (Hershel) of Seth, WV, Barbara Hodges of Beckley, WV, Sandy (Mike) Cunningham of Beckley, WV, Caroline (Rejean) Boulet of Orgas, WV, Gieneva Pettry of Dry Creek, WV, Diana Dillon of Sycamore, WV, Melody Williams of Artie, WV and Judy Wolfe of Naples, FL; a brother, Willis Dickens, and companion, Alyssa Romeo. Dallas was a coal miner for 20 years, a coal truck driver for 14 years, and a volunteer for the Whitesville Fire Dept. for 13 years. He also leaves behind 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and his very close friends; Jerry Lucas, Joe Turner, and Chris Ward. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Jan. 25, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. in the Armstrong Funeral Home Whitesville, WV with Rev. David Cook officiating and The Stewart Family singing. Interment will follow in the Pineview Cemetery Orgas, WV. The visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home. Online condolences at www.armstrongfuneralhomewv.net
