Daniel Vernon Morris

Daniel Vernon Morris, 75, of Naoma, WV passed away on January 18, 2022, in the comfort of his home.  He was born April 7, 1946, at Leevale, WV.  He graduated from Marsh Fork High School in 1964, served his country in the US Army, then worked as a coal miner until his retirement.  Under his gruff exterior was a good heart.  He donated to several charities, and was always willing to help family and friends who were in need.  He was an avid animal lover, always had a small dog as a companion, and loved to watch (and feed) all the birds and local wildlife.  He was the son of the late Clyde and Frankie Morris.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Bongalis Morris, his sisters Clara Canterbury, Susie Webb, and Patsy Gwinn, and his brother James Morris.  He is survived by his loving daughter, Judith Morris, and his canine son, Otis, his sister Linda Cottrell, brothers Donnie Morris, Bo Morris and wife Mary, and Robbie Morris and wife Millie, along with several nieces and nephews.  A private memorial will be held at a later date.  Armstrong Funeral Home is serving the family.
