Danny Nelwood Sutphin of Clarksville, VA passed away on Friday, December 30, 2022 at the age of 81.  He was born in West Virginia on January 26, 1941 to the late Alvin and Helen Hunter Sutphin. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia McConnell Sutphin. Danny was a coal miner by trade and very proud to be employed for over 30 years in mining.  He loved to hunt and fish as hobbies. A member of Antioch Baptist Church, Danny loved his church and attending.  His family remembers him as a loving father, grandfather and husband. Survivors include his sons, Timothy  Sutphin ( Jackie Crute), Michael Sutphin (Debra), Shane Sutphin, and Alvin Sutphin (Dorothy); grandchildren, Mary Lawson (Jacob), Zach Sutphin, Savanna Sutphin, and Brian & Lily Sutphin; and a sister, Diane Sanny.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin & Helen Sutphin and his wife, Pat Sutphin. A graveside service will be held for Danny at 1 pm on Monday, January 9, 2023 in Pineview Cemetery, 21557 Coal River Rd, Orgas, WV 25148 with Rev. Danny Gilfilen officiating.
