Deborah “Aunt D” Kuhn of Sylvester, WV passed away June 3, 2025, after a short illness. Born October 18, 1962, Aunt D was a well-known and respected member of the community. She was proceeded in death by her parents Raymond and Jo Ann “Mamaw Bebo” Mason Kuhn, and her trusted dog Wilson.Aunt D graduated from Sherman High School in 1980. After high school, Aunt D worked at Cedar Coal Company, spent 23years with the Whitesville Ambulance Service, and finished up her career at Elk Run and Marfork Coal Companies in the Coal Sampling Laboratory. Aunt D was an avid fan of the rock band KISS, Tanya Tucker, hosting Bingos for charity, the beach, and finally, Pete Rose, her baseball hero. Her favorite passion, however, was watching her nephews, nieces, great nephews, and great nieces compete and perform at any of their events.She also enjoyed playing and coaching softball. Her proudest softball accomplishment was finishing runner-up in the 1997 Co-Ed Softball Nationals Tournament in Dallas, Texas. Aunt D was the Manager of the Triple S…Softball Sisters with a StoryWomen’s Softball Team and was looking forward to competing in the 2025 Senior National Games as the sole West Virginia representative in Iowa later this year.Aunt D is survived by her sister Vickey (John) Hubbard; auntsDixie Gillenwater, Mary “Tinker” Orlandi, and Robin Walker; niece Jenny (“Sparky” Lee) Bowling, and nephew Michael (Sarah) Ferrell; great nephews Dakota Williams, Hunter Bowling, and Kolton Ferrell; great nieces Nehlyn Bowling, Kaylee Ferrell, and Annabeth Ferrell; special dog Tucker. She is also survived by countless friends and her extended Round Bottom, Sylvester family.As a passionate animal lover, in lieu of flowers, Aunt D has requested donations be made of food, supplies, etc. for local animal shelters.Visitation for the public will be Monday, June 9th from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at Armstrong Funeral Home in Whitesville, WV. Her service, officiated by Reverend Opie Workman, will begin at 2:00pm at Armstrong Funeral Home, followed by interment at Pineview Cemetery, Orgas, WV.
