Denver Ray Scarbrough 67 of Artie passed away on 0ct 11 2021 surrounded by his daughters, after a short 6 month battle with complications after taking the Covid vaccinations. He was born April 20th, 1954. He was a 1972 graduate of Clear Fork High School. He enlisted in the US Army in 1972 he was honorably discharged after serving in Korea in 1978. He enjoyed ginsenging, hunting, fishing, Mountaineer Football, his beagles, and spending time with his kids and grandkids. He was preceded in death by his parents Beverage Scarbrough and Maggie Stover Scarbrough Runion, a daughter Mary Pearl Scarbrough, a grandson Tyler Lee Evans, brothers: Floyd and Harold Scarbrough, sisters: Elsie Jones, Julia Hoke, and Rachel McKnight. Those left to cherish his memory are daughters: Amanda (Cain) Runion, Marsha Evans, Megan (Atrayo) Howerton, and Destany (Tim) Williams; Sons: Derick and Blake (Makayla) Dunbar; Grandchildren: Cordell (Courtney) and Skylar Runion, Caleb, Micah, Atyleigh, and T Evans, Laney, Paxten, Serenity, Peyton, Brooklyn and Nathaniel Williams. Brothers: Woody (Noretta), Jackie, and Ricky (Philena) Scarbrough Sisters: Alice Collins, Juanita (Junior) Grayley, Patty (Jerry) Tyree, and Libby Toney. Special friends and hunting partners Lewis (Carol) and Joseph Scarbrough, several nieces, nephews, and friends. Special Thanks to PCH home health, Samantha Simms and the Baltimore VA for their loving care. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 20, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. in the Ewings Creek Church of Jesus Christ Clear Creek, WV with Dwayne Williams and Joe Barnett officiating. Visitation will be 2 hours before the service at the church. Interment Williams Cemetery Artie, WV. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family has requested in lieu of flowers that donations of sympathy be directed to the funeral home or family. Armstrong Funeral Home is serving the family.
