Doris Elouise Fulk Pettry, 92, was called to her heavenly home December 31, 2022, at her home at Tranquil Court of Naoma, WV. She was the daughter of the late Vivetta (Wratchford) and Cecil Fulk, born at Albright, WV on October 13, 1930. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Pettry Sr; a daughter, Karen Gunnoe, granddaughter, Regina Acord and two sons-in-law, Danny Joe Workman and Benny Gunnoe; sisters: Youvon Kerns, Nancy Sue Armstrong, and Lou Simmons; brothers, Kenneth and Roy Fulk. Those left to cherish her memories are her children: Sidney and Linda Pettry of Naoma, WV, Steve and Charlene Pettry of Rock Creek, WV, Donna Sue Workman of Naoma, WV and Rev’s David and Tammy Pettry of Hickory, NC; sisters: Pamela Buckland of Glen Daniels, WV, Wanda Browning of Rock Creek, WV, Debbie Webb of Myrtle Beach, SC and Norma Simmons of Ohio and her brother, John Fulk of Naoma, WV; grandchildren: Christa Jarrell, Lisa Cole, Amy Jackson, Jamie and Kimberly Gunnoe, Jessica Woods, Corey and his wife, Rose Pettry, Rachel Halstead, Neal Workman, June Pettry, Jonathan Clendenin and Stephen Clendenin; great grandchildren: Jacob and Sydney Jarrell, David, Meagan, Hailey and Dakota Cole, Serenity, Tilda, Jamie, Aubriella, and Caleb Pettry, Aiden Jackson, Allison Gunnoe, Stephen Hurley, Dale and Scott Olsen, Abigail and Kaston Workman and Hunter Halstead; great great-grandchildren: Khloe, Jocelyn, Ledger, Amelia and Lorelei. Doris loved church, and playing her guitar, and singing religious songs. She was a friend to all and she cherished her best friend, Edna Dickens as though she was her sister for years. She will be sadly missed, but she rests now with the Lord until one day we all will be together again. Funeral services will be held at Armstrong Funeral Home Whitesville, WV Thursday, Jan. 5, 2023, at one o’clock with Rev. Benny Turner officiating and the Stewart Family singing. Doris will be laid to rest in the Burl Pettry Family Cemetery at Cooper subdivision of Naoma, WV. The visitation will be 2 hours before the service at the funeral home. The family would like to thank Hospice of Southern WV for the comfort and support during the family’s very sad time and also Bessie Webb for her support and love during this most difficult time.
