Obituary

Elden Baker Stover, 86, of Dorothy, WV went home to be with the Lord, on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at the Bowers Hospice House, Beckley, WV after a long illness. He was born January 14, 1936 at Ameagle, WV a son of the late Newman and Norma Sumners Stover. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings,  Beulah Peyatt, Belzene Treadway, Ancel Stover, Don Stover, Maxine Lutterloh, Mary Williams, and Gertha Toney; son-in-law, Eric Halstead. Elden was a retired coalminer and member of the UMWA. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Marilyn Landon Stover; two daughters, Lavetta Thomasson and husband, Mark, and Marlena Halstead; two sons, Elden Stover and wife, Jerrilyn and Robert Stover and wife, Ann; one brother, Ray Stover, nine grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 12, 2022 at two o’clock in the   Pentecostal Freedom Church, Ameagle, WV with Rev. Gary Maynor; Visitation will be from 6 to 9 Saturday evening at the church.
