Emmett Darnell Brooks

In loving memory of Emmett Darnell Brooks, born Nov 29,1998 in South Charleston, WV. “To know him was to love him.” Darnell was known for his passion for life and all its adventures. Often said to never know a stranger, he will be remembered most by his infectious smile, all those hilarious narratives, and that contagious laugh. Darnell had so much love to give for all those blessed enough to cross paths with him. His life was a blessing, memory, and treasure. He was loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles Sr. and Eleanor Brooks, and Charles Jr. and Stella Brooks. He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Kristina Brooks; father, Charles “Mike” III and Michelle Brooks; sister, Denisha Brooks and only nephew, Khymeer Allen; bonus sibling, Narissa and Trever; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins from Charleston, Cleveland, Philadelphia, California, and Florida. A special prayer and thanks to best friend/brother, David Pharr Jr.  Darnell was baptized and raised at Southridge Church, where his celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025. Visitation will take place from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by the service beginning at noon at Southridge Church, 100 Eagle Drive, South Charleston, WV.
