Ernest “Tubby” May Sr

Tubby May made his way to Heaven on July 3, 2025. He was a wonderful father, papa, brother, uncle, cousin, and a friend to so many. Our daddy never met a stranger—he was such a likeable fella. All through life if he ever gave us advice, you could count on it to be right. He was a jokester and could always make you laugh. He enjoyed hunting with his grandkids, riding in the woods, and hanging out in his “office”, the garage. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife Janet; his parents Ethel and Roy, and his siblings Dennis, Leon, Helen, Audrey, Bertie, Jack, and Darlene. Tubby is survived by his children Angie, Missy, TJ, Bo, and Melinda, as well as his grandchildren Corrine, Seth, and Allyson and siblings, Eddie, Ilene, Merle, Pearl, Janice, and Bonnie. Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing he is reunited with his greatest love and watching over us. We will forever miss and love our precious daddy! Pallbearers: TJ May, Bo May, Seth Ward, Kevin Cooper, Chancey Steele, Daniel Parsons. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday afternoon, July 9, 2025, at two o’clock in the Armstrong Funeral Home, Whitesville, WV with Rev. Roger Halstead officiating. Burial will follow in the Pineview Cemetery, Orgas, WV. The visitation will be one hour before the service.
