Eugene Lowell Pettry, 86, of Dry Creek, WV, went home to be with the Lord at the VA Hospital in Beckley, WV on October 30, 2020 after a long illness. He was born on November 9, 1933 at Montcoal, WV and was the son of the late Mont and Mary Pettry. After attending Marsh Fork High School, Eugene proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean conflict. After retiring from the Ford Motor Company in Akron, Ohio, Eugene moved back to Dry Creek, WV. He served time as an EMT for the Coal River Fire Department. Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, sister Lettie of St. Albans and son Bill of Akron, Ohio. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Norma of Dry Creek. Survivors include daughters Brenda Murray of Sanford, NC, Katrina (Mark) Aliff of Rock Creek and Pamela Moore of Akron, Ohio. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Garrett and Madison Aliff, Lacey Gillespie, Billy Pettry, Jerry and Jessica Moore, and Tiffany Daggs. Four great-grandchildren, David, Samuel, Cora and Kai-Ann. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at the Arnett Chapel in Arnett, WV. Visitation will be held at noon and the funeral service will be at 1:00 with Larry Kinder officiating and with military honors.
