Obituary

Eugene McCormick, 92, of Whitesville, WV went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at his home. He was born January 10, 1930 at Stickney, WV a son of the late Maywood and Lucy Igo McCormick. He was US Army Veteran having served in country during the Korean War. Eugene was a retired coal miner with 42 years of service and member of the UMWA and also was a driver with Daniel Chevrolet, Whitesville, WV. Eugene enjoyed golfing and line dancing. He was a member of the Sylvester Baptist Church, Sylvester, WV. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 69 years, Jo Ann Hendricks McCormick; a sister, Connie McCormick of Rock Creek, WV; two brothers, Carl McCormick of FL and Teddy McCormick of OH and two special cats, Flossie and Puntkin. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon, January 6, 2023 at one o’clock in the Sylvester Baptist Church, Sylvester, WV with visitation one hour before the service at the church with Pastor David Minturn officiating. Interment will follow in the Pineview Cemetery, Orgas, WV. Armstrong Funeral Home is serving the family.
