Henry James (Hank) Hoppe

Henry James Hoppe “Hank” 77, of Dorothy, WV passed away January 15, 2024 at his home. He was born in Saginaw, MI to the late John and Marguirite Hoppe on July 13, 1946. He was the oldest of their four children, He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Bill Sterling, husband of Joanne, and sister-in-law. Karen, wife of Johnny and his sister, Jeanie and her husband, Gary. He also lost grandson, William Van Austin Foster and a daughter, Carla Marie Hoppe. Hank married Sherry Walker on March 28, 1980 at Colcord Presbyterian Church. He was a graduate of Concord University. The couple had four children, Robert, Toni Michelle, Carla, and Rebecca and had a happy family of almost 44 years. They were blessed with grandchildren; Courtney, Meagan, Ty, Laci, Levi, Zoey, and Keeley and two great grandchildren, Blake and Cameron. Mr. Hoppe was a Sailor who served in the US Navy. He was a coal miner and then obtained his Bachelor’s in Social Work and worked for CPS. He served on the Governors Child Fatality review team. He was a UMWA Member and a Member of Colcord Presbyterian Church. A memorial service will be held on January 26, 2024 at 6:30pm at Colcord Presbyterian Church.
