Howard K. Collins, 87, of Fairdale, WV went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 unexpectedly at his home. He was born March 1, 1934 at Packsville, WV. He was the son of the late Ashford and Zona Collins. He was a member of Sycamore Free Pentecostal Church. He proudly served in the Korean War and was honored with the purple heart medal. After the war he worked in the timber and coal industry, from which he retired. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. One of Howards biggest accomplishments was his family. He loved spending time with his family. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Lou Collins; a son, David Collins and a grandson, Eli Collins, a sister, Marie Webb and a brother, Ed Sites. He is survived by his sons, Randall and Bekki Collins of Fairdale, Johnny and Lavon Collins of Dry Creek, Terry Collins of Fairdale and Kevin and April Collins of Fairdale; grandkids: Randy and Amy, Brandon, Lesley, Justin, Kenzie and Braden, Alana and EJ, Cheyanna, and Hanna; great grandkids: Haley, Hanna, Layton, Caden, London, Bree, Kingston, Cayson, Luke and Hudson; and a brother, Charles Collins of Barboursville, WV. and several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Sycamore Free Pentecostal Church Sycamore, WV with Rev. Jerry Tyree officiating and the Stewart Family singing. Interment will follow in the Adkins Cemetery Naoma, WV. The visitation will be 2 hours before the service.
