Jackie Smith, 85, of Whitesville, WV went home to be with the Lord on July 21, 2022 at the CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston, WV after a short illness. She was a dispatcher for Whitesville Fire and Ambulance Service for many years, she loved serving her community. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Smith; daughter, Toni Painter and son, Larry Cooper, her brothers, Bill Swafford of Keen Mt, VA, Ralph Swafford of Chapmanville; George Swafford of Whitesville and Bobby Swafford of Norfolk, VA. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Carlene Nunley of Whitesville, Penny Dean of Whitesville, Barbara “Dennis” Meador of Whitesville; sons, Gary “Sharon” Cooper of Glade Springs, Roger Cooper of Whitesville; sisters, Gilda “Troy” Blankenship of Ronoake, VA, Betty Holt of Richmond, VA; step-children, Gary “Sally” Smith of Chattaroy, Bill “Susie” Smith of Tenn, Mont Smith of Williamson, Debbie Smith of Williamson, her pride and Joy are grandchildren, Mark “Kelsey” Cooper of Walhondia Village, Matt “Kyla” Cooper of Whitesville , Jacob Meador and companion, Brittnay Lanham of Whitesville, Nick Cooper of Glade Springs, Chris Coooper of Whitesville, Johnny Carpenter of Keith, Amber “Adam” Flowers of Shady Springs, Shane Painter of Charleston Jerimah Bennant of Ohio; great grandchildren, Kennedy Flowers, Kamden Flowers, Gabe Cooper, Kendall Cooper, Anisley Painter, Irelynn Painter, Lincoln Painter. Friends may gather at 6:00pm on Thursday evening, July 28, 2022 with Services beginning at 8:00pm in the Armstrong Funeral Home, Whitesville, WV with Pastor Ricky Peters officiating. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the CAMC Memorial Hospice Care for all the Love and Compassion they showed my Mom and family during the difficult time.
