James Eddie Carpenter Jr. went home to be with our Lord, Tuesday, March 29, 2022 surrounded by his family at the age of 68 after battling numerous long illnesses. James attended Sherman High School and worked as a coal miner 15 plus years. He is survived by his wife, of 43 years, Patricia Carpenter; three children, Trish Carpenter (John Fields) Eddie Carpenter and Teddy Carpenter (Sarah Carpenter) his grandchildren, Faith Carpenter, Cohen Smith Layla Loggins, Bethany Loggins, Ashlyn Peaytt, Logan Peaytt and Layton Holstein; sister, Patricia McKinney and a brother, Teddy Wiley; nephews, Jimmy McKinney (Ashley White) and Johnny Carpenter Jr; great nieces and nephews, Madison, Timmy, Carly, Braydon and Baker McKinney. He is preceded in death by his wonderful parents, Velvia and James E. Carpenter Sr.; brothers, Johnny, Gary, and Timothy Carpenter, Carsen Wiley; brother-in-law, Jimmy McKinney and his beautiful grandson, Wyatt James Dewayne Carpenter after a battle with cancer. Eddie has always been a fighter and loved to hunt and fish. Most of all he cherished his family especially his grandchildren. The family is planning a Memorial Dinner at a later date.
