Jane Clay

Jane Clay 88, of Glen Daniel, WV passed away on September 12, 2020 after battling a long illness.  She has permanently changed her residence to live forever with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was known for kindness, generosity, and selfless service to all she knew. Jane was quick to tell you she was “Blessed” but all who knew her were “Blessed” to have her in their life. She was born November 23, 1931 to the late John Burnside and Esther Burnside Whittaker. Jane was a faithful member of Arnett Chapel Community Church and was retired from the United States Postal Service.

She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Lewis Clay of Glen Daniel, WV; sister, Eileen Brown of Beckley, WV; brother, Clyde Burnside of Sarahsville, OH; sons Roger (Susan) Clay of Vero Beach, FL; Randy (Jennie) Clay of Marietta, GA; Jeff (Melissa) Clay of Shady Spring, WV; daughter, Susie Wills of Huntington, WV; 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 15th at 1:00 PM at Arnett Chapel Community Church.  Visitation with the family will be available 1 hour before the service. A private burial at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens will follow. The service will be officiated by Rev. Larry Kinder.  Due to the COVID 19 epidemic, masks will be required, and social distancing guidelines will be strictly followed.  Arrangements by Armstrong Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Arnett Chapel Community Church Samaritan Sisters.
