Jerry Allen Stewart, 87, of Seth, WV passed away Aug. 3, 2025. He was born June 9, 1938, at Ameagle, WV to the late Harry Gay and Mildred Iva Caldwell Stewart. He was a member of the U.M.W.A., also a faithful attendee of the Ameagle Community Church where he was proud to say he watched his father help build around 82 years ago. He was proud to tell about all his working days, from the time he was 15 years old. He was a 24/7/365 day a year man. He loved to make people smile- his passion was woodworking. He was preceded in death by his wife, Melba Bradley Stewart in 2016. She was his anchor and soul mate for 59 years before a bout with cancer that she suffered with for 20 years. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Gay Stewart, and his sister, Roberta Faye Stewart Priestley. Jerry is survived by 2 daughters, Maria Lambert (Ralph) and Rebecca Butcher (Benny); 4 grandchildren: Stacy Mullins (Adrean) of Rand, WV, Jeremy Lambert of Seth, WV, Jamie Butcher (Heather) of Racine, WV and Marty Butcher (Carrie) of Nellis, WV; 8 great grandchildren: Jacob Deal (Jessica) of Masseline, OH, Joseph Deal of Morgantown, WV, Alyssa Lambert (Brayden) of Colorado, Jeremy Lambert II of Seth, WV, Trent Joseph Butcher of Seth, WV, Hayden Elizabeth Butcher of Racine, WV Easton Butcher of Seth, WV and Nolan Butcher of Racine, WV; special friends Duke Stewart and family and Travis Stewart and family, Shirley Estep, Jerry Dillon and Maddie & Harry Jr.; also many friends, nieces and nephews and several animal friends. A special thank you to: Judy Cook of Amedisys Home Care, Dignity Hospice of Chapmanville, and our special friend, Kristen Hill. In lieu of flowers please donate to your favorite animal organization. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. in the Armstrong Funeral Home Whitesville, WV with Rev. Phil Rowe officiating. Interment will follow in the Family Memorial Gardens Low Gap, WV. The visitation will begin at 12 o’clock noon.
