Jess Stanley Duncan

On August 4, 2025, surrounded by his loving family Jess Stanley Duncan, born September 12, 1951 (73), entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was saved and baptized at Healing Stream Baptist Church in Seth West Virginia. Jess was a loyal member of the UMWA with 19 ½ years of service in the coal industry as a coalminer. He loved music and, on many occasions, you could find Jess playing his Taylor guitar. With that love of music, he was able to play with several friends over the years. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving sister Brenda Seanze of Sylvester WV, his son James Duncan (Lia) of Charleston WV, his daughter Shanna Daniels (Gary) of Sylvester WV, his two precious granddaughters MacKenzie Daniels (Ricky Lane) of Morgantown WV, and Megan Duncan of Shady Springs WV, and also many loving cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his dad and mom, Jess W. and Jaqueline and his brother-in-law Robert Seanze. The family would like to thank Dr. Khan at CAMC Memorial, nurses, and his beloved caregiver, Wilma Adkins, and all of those that prayed for him and our family. Due to the wishes of the family Jess' service will be private with a graveside service at Miller Cemetery Rock Creek, WV. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jess' memory to Sylvester Baptist Church, PO Box 372, Sylvester, WV 25193. Pastor Gary Daniels officiating.
