Obituary

Jimmie Dale Estep, 85, of Land O' Lakes, FL gained his heavenly wings, Thursday April 27, 2023 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born to the late Orval and Beatrice Estep on August 17, 1937 in Ameagle West Virginia. He is preceded in death by his wife Betty Estep, parents Orval and Beatrice Estep, and three brothers Dutch, Junior, and JD Estep. Those left to cherish his memory include his three sons: Ronnie and "Peggy" Estep, Jimmie and "Lisa" Estep, Philip and "Sandy" Estep. He also leaves behind 7 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 2 great great-grandchildren. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He looked forward to his visits from his grandchildren and children. Family meant everything to him. You could always count on hearing some amazing stories from throughout his life sometimes adding a hint of exaggeration! He had a love for sports, hunting, and fishing which he shared with his sons and grandchildren. He would wake up early on weekends to take his sons fishing and would spend hours teaching them and spending time with them. He would take them hunting and show them how to track and shoot. He would attend every game his sons played, if he wasn't coaching, he was cheering them on from the sidelines and offering guidance and support. As his sons grew older and started families of their own, he continued to share his love for sports, hunting and fishing with his grandchildren. He would take them on fishing trips, teaching them the same techniques he had taught his sons. He would take them hunting and show them the same patience and dedication he had shown his own children, His love for sports, hunting and fishing was not just a hobby, it was a way of life. It was something he shared with his family and something that brought them closer together. He was a coach, a mentor and a teacher, but most importantly, he was a loving father and grandfather who made his family his biggest priority. He took pride in being a lifetime member of the Masonic lodge and Shriners. He was a dedicated Mason and achieved the rank of a 33 degree. He touched many people's lives and will truly be missed by all.
