Jimmy Bailey, 75, of Clear Creek, WV passed away Friday, September 4, 2020 peacefully at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born December 17, 1944 in Clear Creek, WV. A son of the late Ramie and Ellen Moles Bailey. He was also preceded in death by two infant brothers, Billy and Speed. Jimmy lived in Clarksville, IN from 1965 until 1988. He worked as a welder in Indiana along side his good friend, Terry Murrell. When he retired in 1988 he moved back to Clear Creek, WV. Jimmy loved his family and sports: basketball, softball and horseshoes. He enjoyed helping the younger generations learn the game of basketball. He helped out at the Community Center always ready for a game of pick up, horseshoes and cards and dug many graves for the community. Jimmy was the oldest sibling of the family. He is survived by daughters, Sherry Wathen and husband, Doug of Floyds Knobs, IN and his baby girl, Angel Bailey (Dewayne) of New Albany, IN; a son, Stewart Bailey and wife, Melissa of NC; seven sisters: Lulabelle (Tom), Erma (Victor), Ina (Billy), Anita (Ricky), Judith, Connie (Best Buddy Cecil) and Shirley (Glen); a brother, Sammey (Sharon); his significant other, caregiver, love and soulmate, Gale Maynor and her daughter, Christina (Nathan) Adkins and family and seven grandchildren: Peyton, Alexis, Madison, Noah, Jarrod, Steven and Lauren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon, September 8, 2020 at 3:00pm in the Ewing’s Creek Community Church, Ewing’s Creek, WV with Pastor Loretta Taylor. Burial will follow in the Ewing’s Creek Cemetery. The visitation will be 2 hours before the service at the church. The family want to offer a special thanks to Hospice of WV and Christina Adkins and Family. Also, to those who brought food and provided comfort and prayers in the family’s time of need.
