Joni Williamson Russell, 64, of Seth, WV, passed away in her home on the morning of Monday, October 4th, 2021. Joni was born on January 3rd, 1957, in Valdosta, Georgia to Mickie and Nancy Williamson. She was a 1975 graduate of Sherman High School. Joni was known for her bubbly and friendly personality. To those who knew her, Joni was genuine, funny, compassionate, and an all-around lovely person. Joni enjoyed nothing more than helping others; she displayed her compassion by working as an RN for the past few decades. Aside from her job, Joni made sure her family was well taken care of. She truly lived her life to the fullest and was constantly surrounded by those who loved her. She enjoyed decorating her home, spending time with her family, and Orange Crush soda (not Fanta). To know Joni Russell was to be loved in the most genuine form. Joni leaves behind her husband, Ronnie Russell, her brother, Joe Mike Williamson (Barbie Williamson), her sister, Lori Cowley (C.E. Cowley), her children, Ronnie Joe Russell (Megan Russell) and Mikki Guthrie (Brian Guthrie), her grandchildren, Hannah Guthrie, Ava Russell, Lauren Guthrie, and Emma Russell, and her pets; her beloved dog, Thunder, and cat, Salem. Funeral services will be held on Friday afternoon, October 8, 2021 at one o’clock in the Armstrong Funeral Home Whitesville, WV with Clergy Mike Hannah officiating and singer, Joe Eddie Hendricks. Interment will follow in the Pineview Cemetery Orgas, WV. The visitation will be 2 hours before the service.
