Julia Kay (Scarbrough) Hoke

Julia Kay Scarbrough Hoke, 71, of Hickory, NC passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2020 at her home. She was born Dec. 13, 1948 in Artie, WV. a daughter of the late Beverage Roland and Maggie Scarbrough Runion; Besides her parents she was preceded in death by brothers, Floyd Scarbrough and Harold Scarbrough and sisters, Elsie Jones and Rachel McKnight. and a grandson, Bradley Lairson; a great grandson, Nathan Whiteaker and a great granddaughter, Allison Witt. Those left to cherish her memory are  daughter Felina Shufford and husband Shay of Conover, NC., Jackie Hoke Jr. and girlfriend Kendra of Hickory, NC., Edward Hoke and wife Samantha of Lenoir, NC., and daughter Beverly Moore of Beckley, WV; brothers: Denver Scarbrough and Belinda, Ricky Scarbrough and Phelena of Artie, WV., Jackie Scarbrough and Woody Scarbrough and Noretta both of Clear Creek, WV; sisters: Elizabeth Toney, Juanita Graley and Ernest both of Clear Creek, WV., Alice Collins, Patty Tyree and Jerry of Beckley, WV. Along with 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and a ton of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends! The family is sorry if anyone was left out please forgive us if we did. Funeral services will be held on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 21, 2020 at 2:00 in the Ewing Creek Church of Jesus Christ Ewing Creek, WV with Pastor Loretta Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in the Toney Scarbrough Family Cemetery Toney’s Fork, WV. The visitation will be 2 hours before the service at the church. Armstrong Funeral Home is serving the family.
