June Ruth (Jarrell) Simmons

June Ruth (Jarrell) Simmons, entered her heavenly home Tuesday, December 28, 2021 surrounded by her family after a short illness. June was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Brooks Simmons, her parents, Ernest (EJ) Jarrell and Sylvia Rae (Webb) Jarrell; her brothers, Robert (Bob) Jarrell, Charles (Charlie) Jarrell, a sister, Shirley (Jarrell) Godin, her niece, Kathy (Jarrell) Ferrell, and niece, Michelle Godin Smith. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Leigh Ann and husband, Jerry Miser; and son, Aaron Simmons; grandchildren: Jerry Miser II (LJ) and wife, Aly, Tori Miser and Sammy Miser; great grandchildren, Aubrey, Jerry Miser III (JT), and Eleanor Miser She is also survived by her sisters, Katherine Roberts, Patty Helvey, Amy Workman, Charlotte Dickens, and brother, Glen Jarrell; many nieces and nephews that she dearly cherished and very special-in-laws, Edsel and Sandy Simmons and Kathleen Dickens. She also leaves behind her church family at Arnett Chapel whom she loved dearly, and lots of very close friends. June graduated from Marsh Fork High School and later from Morris Harvey College. She and Brooks married, and she became a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. June was a kind and friendly soul. She never met a stranger and was always ready to help anyone who was in need. She was a dedicated, loving daughter to Ernest and Sylvia, always driving her mom to the store, Dr’s appointment etc., for many years, and thoroughly cherishing her time spent with them. She loved her grandchildren, beyond measure, always wishing they lived closer, but never missing and opportunity to send them a card or package. June is no longer in pain, and she has gone on to reunite with all of her loved ones in Heaven.  Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon December 31, 2021, at one o’clock in the Arnett Chapel, Arnett, WV with Rev. Danny Gilfilen officiating. Burial will follow in the Pineview Cemetery, Orgas, WV. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Online condolences at www.armstrongfuneralhomewv.net
