Lainey Rae Workman

Lainey Rae Workman, 1, of Maiden, NC, passed away peacefully in her mom and dads arms on Sunday June 9th, 2024 at Levine Children’s Hospital after battling a longterm illness. Lainey was born in Lincolnton, NC. She may have only lived a short life, but all she ever knew was love from her parents and all of her family. Her life touched more people than most will realize. She was a special little girl with the best heart and the best fashion sense when it came to her wardrobe and bows. She was full of strength, fight, and courage like no other. She loved all of her nurses and doctors that became a second family to her. Lainey was loved beyond measure and a spoiled little girl in the best way. Her parents wouldn’t have wanted it any other way and couldn’t have asked for a more perfect daughter. Left to cherish her memory are her loving parents, Austin and Kyla Workman; grandparents, Nevie and Crystal Workman, Joe and Missy Lemon; great grandparents, Nancy McClellan, Mary Lou Workman, Minnie Lemon, and Eddie Carter; aunt and uncles, Dalton and Marissa Lemon-Woicehovich, Dustin Workman; cousins, Kohen and Arely Woicehovich. Funeral service will be held Saturday, June 15th, 2024 at one o’clock in the Armstrong Funeral Home, Whitesville, WV. Interment will follow in the Lemon-Cook Cemetery, Arnett, WV with graveside prayer at the cemetery. Instead of an all black funeral, I believe Lainey would have wanted us to all wear fun and bright colors. She was always so stylish.
