Larry Delayne Asbury born September 24, 1940 went home to our Holy Father on January 6, 2021. Larry served his country from 1958 to 1965 in the US Navy as a SFP3PI. He retired from Kessler Coal as a Master Electrician. He was a member of UMWA Local # 6608, a member of the American Legion Post 75. Larry loved fishing and vacations in Florida, watching ballgames with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, most of all, the love between he and his wife, Mary Ann Rizzuto Asbury for the past 41 years. He is a member of St Joseph Catholic Church in Whitesville, WV. Surviving family children: David “Linda” Asbury of Madison, WV Robbie “Tina” Asbury of Dry Creek, WV, Diane “Kevin” Lovely of Fairdale, WV, Joe “Sylina” Norris of Lewisburg, WV, Vickie “Ronnie” Mooney of Seth, WV, Mark “Becky” Norris of Bloomingrose, WV; sisters, Mona “John” Bradford, of Florida; 13 Grandchildren, Brittany, Aimee, Logan, Karissa, Kyla, Emilee, Maggie, Nikki, Summer, Justin, Ryan, Joseph, Madison and 16 great grandchildren. Larry was preceded in death by parents, Carl James and Lorine Pettry Asbury Neimi; Sisters/Brothers, Carl J. Asbury, Jacquetta Gearhart, and Sandra Rasone. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon January 9, 2021 at one o’clock In the Armstrong Funeral Home Whitesville, WV with Father Neil Buchlein and Rev. Percy Young officiating. Entombment will follow in the Pineview Cemetery Mausoleum Orgas, WV. Pallbearers will be: David, Robbie, Kevin, Mark, Joe and Joseph. The visitation will be one hour before at the funeral home. The family request no flowers, please make donations to Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Whitesville, WV. Military graveside rites will be provided by Madison VFW Post 5578.
