Lewis Earl Clay

Lewis Earl Clay, 90 of Glen Daniel, WV passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, after battling a long illness. Lewis is now rejoicing as he has permanently changed his residence to live forever with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was known for kindness, generosity, and selfless service to all he knew. He was born July 13, 1931, to the late James Basil and Thelma Mae Atha Clay. Lewis was a faithful member of Arnett Chapel Community Church and was retired after a 43-year career in coal mining. He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Jane Clay of Glen Daniel, WV of whom he has longed for a reunion since she passed 16 months ago. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sue Wills of Huntington, WV and a brother, Larry Clay of Glen Daniel, WV.   He is survived by sons Roger (Susan) Clay of Vero Beach, FL; Randy (Jennie) Clay of Marietta, GA; Jeff (Melissa) Clay of Vero Beach, FL; 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.  The family extends their heart-felt thanks to Amanda, Sue, Zeke and Robin who provided extraordinary care to Lewis in his home for the last two years. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 1 PM at Arnett Chapel Community Church. Visitation with the family will be from 12 PM to 1 PM before the service that will be officiated by Pastor Larry Kinder and Pastor Jerry Brown. Burial will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at a later date. Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, masks are strongly suggested, and social distancing would be appreciated.
