Linda Sue Peters, Nanny went to be with our Lord on July 20, 2023, after a short illness. She peacefully passed at the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV. She was born to John and Sylvia Kelly on July 25,1942. Linda loved life and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, canning, photography, scrapbooking, and being the “Queen of Farm Town.” In addition to being preceded by her parents and four grandchildren, Linda was preceded by her husband, Clifford Peters. She lived most of her life in Seng Creek, WV where she raised her surviving children; Ricky (Roselyn) Peters and Gary (Alecia) Peters all of Bolt, WV. They also had a daughter, Debbie (Butch) Webb of Rockwell, NC, and a stepdaughter Bonnie (Jim) Gearhart of Groveland, FL. She was survived by grandchildren; Joshua (Karla) Peters of Comfort, Clifford (Ashley) Peters of Six Mile, Travis Peters (Ben Gardner) of Orlando, FL, Jenny Peters of Beckley, and Anna (Steve) Stover of Clear Creek. She also had three step-grandchildren. Ken (Renee) Webb of Kannapolis, NC, Carrie (Jim) Brown of Salisbury, NC, and Melinda (Jeremy) Williams of Van, WV. Linda had a full family with great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren who were the loves of her life! Great grandchildren were Katie and Jacob Peters (Josh and Karla); Andrew and Aaron Peters (Cliff and Ashley); Joseph Chambers, Heather Walter, Amber Wright, Donovan, Amanda, Hannah Webb, Kory Williams, and Allison Brown (Deb and Butch). She had seven great great-children in North Carolina. Linda’s tight knit family would not be complete with out her surviving siblings. They were Betty (Hershel) Taylor, Brenda (Bobby) Wiseman, Joannie (Mike) Walker, JC. (Mae) Kelly, Jackie (Ann) Kelly, and Dian Goga, and an “adopted” sister Virginia Smith. She had numerous nieces and nephews from her family’s side and numerous ones from the Peters’ side. Two of those were very special to her; Don (Kim) and Nanette Peters. Linda was also preceded in death by her companion of 32 years, Harlan Myer. He is survived by his two children, Peggy (Kurk) Malwin, Alan (Lynn) Myer, three grandchildren (another “adopted” family member Mikey Paschke), and two great grandsons from Venice, FL. Wednesday, July 26, 2023, a viewing will be held at 11 am with a funeral service at, 12 o’clock, noon at the Armstrong Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Mosteller officiating. Her interment will be at the Pineview Cemetery. Although she will be greatly missed, we will celebrate her gaining her heavenly wings that will take her to see loved ones she has longed to see.
