Lorene Jestene (Clay) Hyde, 76, of Winfield, passed away suddenly at Genesis Teays Valley Center in Hurricane, WV on Saturday, September 24, 2022. She was born on July 6, 1946, in Sylvester, WV to Jimmie Clay and Emma Mae (Tudor) Clay. She was a devoted Christian who wanted to ensure everyone would see her again in heaven. She loved to make candy, especially copycat versions of her favorites, along with her most loved potato candy. She was a very generous and giving person who had given away all her worldly possessions before entering the nursing home. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her twin sons, Arley Wayne Canterbury and his wife Vesna Rosemary, of San Jose, CA, Kenneth “Kenny” James Canterbury and his wife April, Dawn of Citra, FL her granddaughter Alexandrea "Alli" Ryan Canterbury of Fort Meyers, FL and her great-grandson Griffin James Gorton of Fort Meyers, FL. She was preceded in death by her mother Emma Mae (Tudor) Clay, her father, Jimmie Clay, her husband Dobson Holstein, her husband Jimmy Hyde, her husband Rufus “Butch” Canterbury, her brother Sharell J. Clay, her sister Eva Jean Clay, and her brother, Don R. Clay. Arrangements are made by Armstrong Funeral Home, Whitesville, WV.
