Mabel Chloe Brown, 95, of Drews Creek, WV passed away on August 26th, 2021 in her home of natural causes. Born on February 18, 1926, she was the daughter of the late J. Byrd Miller and Rebecca “Margie” Workman Miller. Mabel was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend to so many. She was a member of Delbert Freewill Baptist Church, where she played the bass guitar and sang, and was a founder of the Pine Knob Ramp Dinner. She was a pillar of the community, and the peoples’ lives she touched will never be the same. In addition to her parents, Mabel was preceded in death by her husband J. Quentin Brown; four children, still-born twins Ramona Jean Brown and Rebecca Jane Brown, Larry Wayne Brown, and Judith Karen Brown; brothers Virgil Miller (Delma), Howard Miller (Ollie and Sadie), Sterling “Ted” Miller, and Jennings Byrd Miller (Phyllis); sisters Georgia Gertrude Miller and Virginia Dare “Jenny” Bonds; nephews Andy Miller and Kermit Ray Miller; and great-great nephew Andrew Thompson. Mabel is survived by her devoted daughter Susan Landy and son-in-law Pete Landy; grandson Tracy Brown (Jennifer) of Drews Creek; granddaughters Nikki Honaker (Danny) of Drews Creek and Joan Cooper (David) of Crab Orchard; great-grandchildren Faith Honaker of Drews Creek and Quinton and Emery Cooper of Crab Orchard; sister-in-law Mary Miller of Charleston and many other nieces, nephews, and special friends. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 30th, 2021 at 1:00pm at Delbert Freewill Baptist Church in Drews Creek, WV with Rev. Benny Turner and Rev. Danny Gilfilen officiating and the Turner Family singing. Friends may call at 11:30am-1:00pm. Burial will be at A.T. Miller Cemetery in Drews Creek. Armstrong Funeral Home in Whitesville, WV is in charge of the arrangements.
