Maggie Virginia (Blanton) Strickland Taylor

Maggie Virginia Blanton Strickland Taylor, 89, of Cooperstown, WV went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 11, 2024.  She was born on August 10, 1934 to the late Litchfield and Alvertia Marie (Vertie) Brown Blanton.  In addition to her parents, Maggie was proceeded in death by her husbands, George Strickland, Jr. and Everett Taylor; two of her sons, Hank Strickland and Brian Strickland, Sr.  Maggie is survived by her son, Chris Strickland; her grandchildren, Jason (Brandy) Strickland, Brandon Strickland, Christopher Strickland, Katie Strickland, Cydney Strickland, Chloe Carroll and Brian Strickland, Jr; her great-grandchildren, Luke Strickland, Peyton Strickland and Caleb Strickland; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and special friends, Ann Kelley and Mabel Clay. Maggie was a member of the Church of God of Prophesy in Sylvester, WV.  She enjoyed going to church, watching wrestling, baking and spending time with her church family. Funeral service will be at the Armstrong Funeral Home, Thursday, July 18, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. service led by Rev. Ronnie Santonio and singing by the Stewart’s, followed by burial at Pineview Cemetery. Visitation for the family will be from 11:00-noon. Visitation for friends will be from noon - 2:00.
