Margaret Ann (Solberg) Jarrell

Margaret Ann Jarrell, 68, of Dry Creek, West Virginia, passed peacefully on May 29, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on November 26, 1956, in Charleston, WV, Margaret was the daughter of the late Ernst and Madaline Drake Solberg. She was also preceded in death by her father-in-law, Joseph Jarrell. A proud 1975 graduate of South Charleston High School, Margaret went on to earn her degree in Speech Pathology from Marshall University in 1979. She devoted 44 years of service to Raleigh County Schools, where she touched the lives of countless students and families with her compassion, wisdom, and dedication. Alongside her husband, she also co-owned and operated the beloved Dry Creek Store. Margaret was a beacon of light. Gentle, kind, and unwavering in her love for others, she was a devoted wife, nurturing mother, proud grandmother, loving sister, and loyal friend. Her deep faith in the Lord was the foundation of her life and a source of strength, comfort, and guidance. Her legacy is one of grace, generosity, and steadfast commitment to those she loved. She brought warmth and kindness into every life she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 45 years, Gary Jarrell, of Dry Creek, WV; her children: Gary Jarrell (Christina) of South Charleston, WV; Jason Jarrell of San Diego, CA; and Julie Eastman (Brad) of Mt. Pleasant, SC. She is also survived by her brother, John Solberg (Marlene) of Charleston, WV; her cherished grandchildren: John Michael, Riley, and Morgan, all of South Charleston, WV, and Clara and Ruby, of Mt. Pleasant, SC; her mother-in-law, Ramona Jarrell of Beckley, WV; brother-in-law Joe Jarrell (Sue Westfall); sisters-in-law Terri Jarrell and JoAnn Honaker (Gary); and many loving nieces and nephews: Nick, Carrie, Rivka, Daniel, DJ, Justin, Josh, Tia, Callissa and James. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, in the Armstrong Funeral Home Whitesville, WV at 2:00p.m. with Pastor Terry Layton officiating. Interment will follow in the Jarrell Family Cemetery Dry Creek, WV. The visitation will be Friday from 6-9p.m. at the funeral home.
