Margaret June (Stamper) Walker Obituary

Margaret June (Stamper) Walker, 94, of Sylvester went home to be with the Lord on Saturday June 1, 2024, at her home.  She was born on April 10, 1930 in Eunice, WV and was the daughter of the late Bert and Ethel Stamper.  She was also preceded in death by her loving husband Robert ‘Peanuts’ Walker, her 5 brothers and 2 sisters.  Margaret was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Whitesville, before her passing, she was the oldest living member of the Church.  She graduated from Marsh Fork High School in 1948 and helped coordinate the Marsh Fork High School reunion for many years with other dedicated Marsh Fork graduates. Margaret was a devoted mother to her three daughters, she enjoyed sewing, camping with her grandchildren and taking them to the WV State Fair.  She cherished family gatherings and delighted in sharing stores with her grandchildren. She is survived by her loving daughters – Regina ‘Lynn’ Walker, Vickie (Harvey) Ferrell, Sherry (Guy) Hensley; grandchildren Shan (Becky) Ferrell, Robert Ferrell, Vickie (Matt) Mankin and Justin (Amanda) Hensley; great-grandchildren Sydnee and John Ferrell, Kinsley, Marlie, Joely and Simmi Mankin, Justin ‘JJ’, Aurora ‘Rory’, and Sylas Hensley.  Along with a special niece, like a bonus daughter, Toni Coon; her sister-in-law Phyllis Hayes, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held at the Whitesville Baptist Church on Thursday June 6, 2024 at twelve o’clock noon with Rev’s Dennis Dye and Adam Coon officiating. Visitation will begin one hour before the service. Interment will follow in the Pineview Cemetery, Orgas, WV. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted to the Benevolent Fund at the Whitesville Baptist Church at PO Box 526, Whitesville, WV 25209.
