Marvin Turner

Our beloved Marvin Turner of Rock Creek, WV passed peacefully into the presence of the Lord on Sunday, October 30, 2022, after a long illness. Marvin was born April 22nd, 1939 to the late Lena Turner of Drews Creek, WV. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was a former coal miner who, after retirement, enjoyed working as a tour quide at the Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine. He was a member of Stickney Community Church for 52  years where he served as both Deacon and teacher. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty years, Marianne, his beloved step-children whom he rasied as his own, Carrie (Ron) Bradley of Dry Creek, WV, Glenn (Carla) Meadows of Connelly Springs, NC, Kristy (James) Clendenin of Hickory, NC, and Karla (Philip) Lafferty of Conover, NC, he was preceded in death by his beloved stepson, Mark Meadows. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren: Nick (Aylin) Bradley, Amanda (Timmy) Mays, Kimberly (Garrett) Ballengee, Zachary Meadows, Justin Lafferty, Kelsey Bradley, Ben Meadows, Tessa Alexander, Josh Meadows, and Russell (Samantha) Meadows. His beloved great-grandchildren: Alora, Kylen, Eli, Harrison, Annie, Neil, Maverick, Talia, and Aria. Also, special cousin, Delores Workman, special best friend, Danny Gilfilen, plus many special nieces, nephews, and friends. In honoring his wishes, there will be no funeral. A short committal will be held at the gravesite at Adkins-Pettry Cemetery in Naoma, WV, on Thursday, November 3rd, 2022 at 1pm. Officiating will be his Pastor friends, Jerry, Brown, Lynn Halstead, and Danny Gilfilen. The family deeply appreciates all the thoughts, prayers, and support extended during this difficult time.
