Mary "Mindy" McLaughlin

Mary “Mindy” McLaughlin, 69, of Sylvester, WV passed away on October 24, 2025, at Ruby Memorial from an aggressive cancer. Mindy was born on August 28,1956 in Norfolk, VA to Lachlan and Marie McLaughlin. She grew up in Wilbraham, MA and graduated from Minnechaug Regional High School. She met the love of her life, Wolf, before moving to Sylvester, which she has long called home. Mindy was known for her kindness. She was a loving mother and a dear friend. She loved visiting with her daughters, friends, and family, tending to her garden, decorating for the holidays, and caring for her beloved cats. She is preceded in death by her partner Robert “Wolf, Wooley” Spears, her parents Lachlan “Mac” McLaughlin Sr. and Marie “Mickey” McLaughlin, and her brother Lachlan “Rooster” McLaughlin Jr. She is survived by her daughters Nicole (Jason) Bailey of Terre Haute, IN and Jess (Cody) Hall of Morgantown, WV, her cousin Joanna “Jody” Dodd of Feeding Hills, MA, her family and friends from Massachusetts, her best friends Debbie Lewis of Sylvester and Sheila Combs of Orgas, and her dear friends in Sylvester and at St Joseph Catholic Church. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 31, 2025, from 6pm-9pm at St Joseph Catholic Church in Whitesville, WV. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 2pm, also at St Joseph Catholic Church.  Burial to follow at Pineview Cemetery. Armstrong Funeral Home is serving the family.
