Nancy Morgan Obituary

Nancy Sue Morgan, of Greenville, South Carolina, passed away on March 31, 2025, following a brief but courageous battle with unexpected medical complications.

Born on April 17, 1939, in Whitesville, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Andy and Delia Averson.

From an early age, it was clear that she had an eye for beauty; not just in the way she carried herself, always impeccably dressed, but in the way she saw and nurtured the beauty in others. She had a timeless grace that made everyone who met her feel safe, special, and seen. Whether through a kind word, a gentle touch, or a knowing smile, she gave love freely and fully.

Nancy built a life centered on faith and family. Along with her love for her Lord Jesus, nothing brought her more joy than being surrounded by those she loved. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.

She is survived by her sisters Brenda, Mary Jane, Lorena, and Shirley, as well as the sister of her heart, Teresa. Her legacy lives on through her children, Rex (Roxann), Brian (Amy), and Kim (Matt); her grandchildren, Candis, Rex (Catie), April (Matt), Brianne, Damen, John (Linda), Sara (Alex), Rachelle (Stephen), and Ariana; and her 14 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind countless friends and loved ones whose lives she touched.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Junior, Jimmy, Roger, and Louie Gene, and sister, Earline Kaye.

Her presence was a gift, and her loving spirit was an example our family will seek to carry on. Though our hearts ache in her absence, we find comfort in knowing she is now wrapped in the eternal embrace of Jesus, dressed in the finest fabrics of Heaven, where she is waiting to give us all the biggest hugs when we finally join her.
