Pearl Justine Cook Ransom of Arnett, WV went home to be with the Lord, on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston, WV. She was born August 13, 1944 in Arnett. She lived in Arnett for the past 27 years after living in Virginia 31 years having worked in banking. She was preceded in death by her parents; Albert and Edith Cook, a sister, Geraldine Workman; a brother, Eddie Cook; her husband, Donald Ransom; brother-in-law, Charles Workman and sister-in-law, Peggy Cook. Survived by a daughter, Cheryl Ann Hudgins; granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann Anderson; great-grandson, Johnathon Carnegie; great-granddaughter, Lillie Ann Anderson; brother, “JL” Joseph Cook; sister, Marlene Lucas; brother-in-law, Jerry Lucas; nieces: Beverly Brown, Cynthia Barry, Megan Skaggs; nephews: Jeffrey Lucas, Greg Workman, Matt Cook, Wesley Cook and Bryan Cook; several great-nieces and great-nephews; close friends, Carol England and Sandy Simmons; her loved church family of Arnett Chapel; one loved uncle, Avary McMillion; aunts, Cora Lee McMillion and Jean McMillion; many cousins who she loved. She enjoyed the beach, sewing, painting and spending time with her family and friends. She was an active member of the Arnett Chapel and its Samaritan Sisters. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon December 28, 2020 at one o’clock in the Arnett Chapel with Pastor Larry Kinder officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley, WV. Visitation will be 2 hours before the service at the church. Armstrong Funeral Home is serving the family.
