Peggy Sue Gilfilen, 79 of Drews Creek, WV went home to be with the Lord Oct. 21, 2021 at Raleigh General Hospital Beckley, WV She was born July 3, 1942 at Pineknob, WV. A daughter of the late Orval and Martha Scarbro Mullins. She was a member of the Union Chapel Church and attended the Delbert Freewill Baptist Church at Drews Creek and was a member of the Ladies Aid. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Claude Hammer Gilfilen; sister, Betty Canaday; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dale and Sandy Gilfilen; brother-in-law, Ernie Gilfilen and sister-in-law, Ann Wills. Peggy is survived by her son, Greg Gilfilen and wife, Karen of Taylorsville, NC; sister, Linda Vealey and husband, Lawrence Jr. of Sylvester; two grandsons, Eric and Rocky and two great grandsons, Aaron and Cooper; sisters-in-law, Ruth Tucker and husband, Terry of Rock Creek, WV, Linda Lively and husband, Lee of Lake George, CO and Iona Gilfilen of Springsboro, OH; brothers-in-law, Danny Gilfilen and wife, Becky of Drews Creek and Clyde Canady of Mt. Nebo, WV; several special nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved. Funeral services will be held on Wed. Oct. 27, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Armstrong Funeral Home Whitesville, WV with Rev. Danny Gilfilen officiating. Interment will follow in the Cook Cemetery Naoma, WV. Visitation will be one hour before the service.
