Peggy Ann Jarrell Lemon, 91, of Beckley, WV, formerly of Naoma, WV, passed away July 14, 2023, peacefully at her home surrounded by her children. She was born January 20, 1932, daughter of the late Jesse James Jarrell and Ona Mae Linville Jarrell. Besides her parents and siblings, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 1/2 years, Charles W. Lemon; her daughter Lisa Mae Lemon Scarbro, and granddaughter Jennifer Marie Scarbro. Peggy is survived by a son, Ricky Reagon and wife Melinda of Beckley, WV; two daughters, Rose Ann Dickens and husband Kenny of Florida, and Teresa Williams and husband Wayne of Florida; grandchildren Dina Reagon, Jennifer Dolinger, Jesse Reagon, Tiffany Cheeks and husband Jerry; and Ryne Dickens and wife Sabine; great grandchildren Hunter Calacino, Lyndsey Reagon, Analisa Reagon, Cameron Reagon, Blake Reagon, Mason Dolinger, Jathan Cheeks, and Brooklyn Reagon, and one great grandchild, Hazel Jo Calacino; two brothers-in-law Homer Lemon (Gloria) and Joe Eddie Allen (Kay); and special family friend Jean Ritchhart. Peggy was a retired owner of Lemon's Grocery and Deli in Naoma for 50 years. She was a retired school bus driver for Raleigh County schools for 17 years. Peggy enjoyed many hobbies including carpentry, upholstery, gardening, making flower arrangements and working on home improvement projects with her children. She will always be remembered as an excellent cook by her family, friends and community. Her lifetime enjoyment was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a wonderful mother. Funeral services will be Monday, July 17, 2023, 2pm at Armstrong Funeral Home, Whitesville, WV, with Pastor Lynn Halstead officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Adkins Cemetery, Naoma, WV. Pallbearers will be Kenny Dickens, Wayne Williams, Ricky Reagon, Jesse Reagon, Cameron Reagon, Jerry Cheeks and alternate, Blake Reagon. Mrs. Lemon's family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of Southern West Virginia for their kindness and care. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to Hospice of Southern West Virginia in Beckley.
