Phyllis Mae (Blankenship) Dillion entered peacefully into her eternal home in Heaven Monday, October 11, 2021 with her three precious children by her side after a short illness. Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Vence Bruce Dillon, her parents, George Washington Blankenship and Thala Rose McCallister Blankenship, her brother, William Boyd Blankenship, her sisters, June (Blankenship) Clay, and Georgia (Blankenship) Atha. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Sandy and husband, Edsel Simmons; son, Terry and wife, Connie (Allen) Dillon and son, Darrin Dillon; grandchildren: Lindsey (Simmons) Honaker and husband, Cleve, Jessica (Dillon) Tolliver and husband, Jim, Andrew Dillon and his wife, Brooklyn (Pettry) Dillon; great-grandchildren: Ashlee Honaker, Emma Honaker, Kendall Tolliver, James Tolliver, Kaliauna Dillon and Sadie Dillon. She is also survived by sisters, Lois Aliff and Ruth Lovely, several nieces and nephews. Her nephew, Derrick (Ricky) Dillon, faithfully visited her and always made her laugh. She leaves behind her church family at Arnett Chapel whom she loved dearly. Phyllis was born at Edwight, WV. She attended Mount View School and later worked as a waitress at the Time and Tide Restaurant, for Edna Wills, located at Arnett. After, she married Vence, she became a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. Phyllis was known for her ability to cook, especially deserts. She was an active member of Arnett Chapel for over 60 years. Phyllis taught Bible School, sang in the church choir and with the Arnett Quartet. She participated in making quilts and was a long standing member of the Samaritan Sisters. She enjoyed serving her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She’s no longer afraid of Falling; she has learned to Fly. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at 12:00 , Noon, in the Arnett Chapel Arnett, WV with Rev. Larry Kinder officiating and the Stewart Family singing. Interment will be in the Sunset Memorial Park. The visitation will be 1 hour before the service. Pallbearers will be: Ricky Dillon, Cleve Honaker, Andrew Dillon, Jim Tolliver, Billy Aliff and Charles Dickens. Honorary pallbearers: Edsel Simmons, Kevin and Brian Lovely and Deke Milam
