Raymond Devis Jarrell Sr.

Raymond Devis Jarrell SR “Biggie” 85 of Naoma, WV passed away peacefully on June 9th, 2023, at the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV after a lengthy illness. He was born April 23, 1938 at Sundial, son of Carl & Sylvia Jarrell. He is preceded in death by his twin sons Raymond Devis Jarrell JR and Baby Jarrell, his brothers Donald Jarrell & Roger Hamilton, his sister-in-law Juanita Hamilton. Those left to cherish his memories are his loving family who cared for him throughout his illness, daughter in law Kimberly S Jarrell (Raymond) and his two grandchildren who he loved so much, Heather R Jarrell & Carl R Jarrell. He is also survived by his brother Lloyd Jarrell and his wife Mary. Sister-in-law Bernice Jarrell (Donald). Nieces Cindy Manning, Kathi Belk, Kristi Phillips & Stephanie Jarrell. Special friends Dean Bone, Alva & Elbert Pettry, Marianne Turner, Maxine Hughes & Bill Parsons. Raymond attended Marsh Fork High school. He excelled at basketball and football. He was employed at Ravenswood Aluminum in Ravenswood, WV. He loved to fish and travel to Canada with his son Raymond and brothers, he also enjoyed gardening, traveling in the summer with his family was something he always looked forward to. Funeral services will be held at Naoma Methodist Church on Monday June 12th, 2023 at 1:00 PM. Visitation 12-1pm at the church. Burial will follow at Adkins Cemetery, Naoma. Pallbearers will be Carl Jarrell, Danny Gilfilen, Randy Lipford, Jimmy Brown, Rusty Meadows, Ron Clay & Payton Dickens. Paster Opie Workman & Danny Gilfilen Officiating. Music by Debbie Lipford. Armstrong Funeral Home will be serving the family.
