Reginald Cooper Obituary

 Reginald Lee Cooper, 69 years old of Coopertown, WV passed away peacefully on July 23, 2024 at Hospice Hubbard House after a short illness. Reggie was born on August 4, 1954 to the late Hillard E. Cooper and Diane Cooper Kinder. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his stepmother, Nell Cooper and a grandson, Adam Blackburn Cooper. Reggie was a 1972 graduate of Sherman High School in Seth, WV. He served in the Army in the 82nd Airborne Division from 1982-1986. He later retired from B&M Oil in 2016. After his retirement he enjoyed sitting on his back porch with his best friend, Hershey, his chocolate lab, wife Brenda and brother Joe watching the wildlife. Reggie loved to go to Backus Mountain to hunt and fish will all his buddies, far to many to list. Reggie is survived by his wife, Brenda Kay Cooper of 40 years, love of his life. Children: Matthew (Vicky) Cooper, Michael (Alexandra) McNeely of Charleston, WV, Scott (Megan) McNeely of St. Albans, WV, Danielle (Jason) Hawkins of Orgas, WV; brothers, Howard Cooper of Pace, FL, Joe (Lesley) Cooper of Coopertown, WV; sister, Donna (Keith) Briggs of East Bank, WV; grandchildren: Layne and Joel McNeely of Charleston, WV, Justin (Katlyn) Hawkins of Bloomingrose, WV, Jayden Hawkins of Orgas, WV and Chase McNeely of St. Albans; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Special thanks to Kenny and Donna Bailey, hospice nurse, Melanie and nursing staff at the Hospice Hubbard House. There will be no services. Armstrong Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Shriners Children’s Hospital, or Hospice Hubbard House.
