Robert Persinger Obituary

Robert E. Persinger, 75, of Fairdale, West Virginia, entered into the eternal presence of his Lord and Savior on June 14, 2025. He passed peacefully, surrounded by those who loved him most, after a life lived with grace, humility, and deep faith. Born on April 25, 1950, Robert lived a life marked by quiet strength, integrity, and devotion to God and family. A man of deep character, his actions spoke volumes—always thoughtful, always faithful, and always available to those in need. He modeled what it meant to walk humbly with the Lord and to love without condition. Robert faithfully served as pastor of Maple Meadow Chapel in Fairdale, WV for several years, shepherding his congregation with gentleness, humility, and a deep love for the Word of God. His ministry was rooted in compassion and a quiet, steady faith that left a lasting impact on all who knew him. Whether preaching from the pulpit or ministering one-on-one, Robert's life was a reflection of Christ’s grace and servant-hearted love. He thoroughly adored his fur babies, Emma and Carlie, who brought him much joy and comfort. Robert also cherished two very special people who held a unique place in his heart: his niece, Natalie Clark of Ocala, Florida, and his nephew, Eric Green of Ohio. He is survived by his devoted wife, Linda Persinger, with whom he shared 52 years of loving marriage. He is also survived by his daughters, Stacy McGhee and her husband Mark, and Shelley Persinger; and by his cherished grandchildren: Alyssa McGhee, Adam McGhee and his wife Emma, Aleah Persinger, and his bonus granddaughter, Maddie Christian. Though his presence will be deeply missed, Robert’s legacy lives on through the lives he touched, the Word he preached, and the faith he passed on. We take comfort in knowing he is now at peace and whole again in the presence of his Savior. A private family celebration of life will be held at the Pettry Cemetary on Wednesday, June 18th with Pastor Jerry Cantley officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Robert’s memory to Bowers Hospice House, 454 Cranberry Drive, Beckley, WV 25801.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” — 2 Timothy 4:7
