Roger Lee Cottrell, 73, of Orgas, WV passed away on December 17, 2023, after a long illness. He was born July 19,1950 with his late twin brother to the late Hollie and Thelma “Pal” Cottrell. Including his parents Roger is preceded in death by sister Gilda Cottrell Harris, infant brother Randall Cottrell, twin brother and best friend Raymond Leigh Cottrell. Also, many Cousins, Aunts and Uncles, and In-laws. Rog was a lifelong truck driver, parts runner for Daniel Chevrolet, and proud Navy veteran. He loved to have a good time and make others laugh. If you ever wanted to hear a good story or learn something you may or may not have needed to learn, just attend one of the infamous porch meetings on the back porch. He enjoyed fishing with his brother, riding, watching a good western or Nascar race, trading vehicles, listening to bluegrass, and spending time with family. He will be missed by many. Roger is survived by wife, Wilda Cottrell of Orgas, sons, Clarence “Leroy” (Wendy) Riley of Colcord, and Teddy (Angie) Riley of Whitesville, Daughter Amanda (Grayson) Cox of Seth, Grandchildren; Jeremiah Riley (Habrina), Jacob Riley, Abby Riley, Gracie Riley, Noah Riley, Carson Cox, and Lucas Cox, Great Grandchild, Tyler. Sisters-in-law, Mary “Tiny” (Harold) Cremeans, Nila Cottrell, and Candy Dickens, Brother-in-law, Michael Harris, Special Cousin, Vickie Wallace, and special friends Michael Joe and Mason Monhollen. Funeral service will be held Thursday, December 21th, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Armstrong Funeral Home in Whitesville, WV with Rev. Leroy Ferrell and Roger’s Grandson Rev. Jacob Riley officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Interment will follow in Pineview Cemetery in Orgas, WV with military rites with VFW Post #5578 Madison, WV. Armstrong Funeral Home, Whitesville, WV is serving the family.
