Roger (Jughead) Dale Persinger, 67, of Shady Springs, WV died December 17, 2021 at his home after a long illness. He was born August 1, 1954 in Chicago, ILL a son of the late Calvin and Eunice Meadows Persinger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy and Randy Persinger. He was a retired coal miner from Peabody Coal Company and member of the UWMA. Before he became ill he loved to hunt, fish, golf, and camp at Willowood Campground. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Debbie (Clendenin) Persinger; sibling, Bobbie Persinger (Linda), Sandy Cole (Andy), Debbie Sheehy; sons, Roger D. Persinger Jr., David Persinger (Natalie); daughter, Kimberly Persinger; grandchildren, Jacob Persinger, Austain Persinger, Tryten Persinger, Erika Persinger, Senthea Williams, Michael Williams. Funeral services will be held on Monday afternoon, Dec. 20, 2021 at two o’clock in the Armstrong Funeral Home Whitesville, WV with Rev. Doc Adkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Persinger Clendenin Cemetery Rock Creek, WV. The visitation will be one hour before the service.
