Ronnie Lee Scarbro

Ronnie Lee Scarbro, 76, of Saxon Road in Fairdale, WV, formerly of Masseyville Road in Rock Creek, WV, went home to be with the Lord, peacefully with his family by his side, on Monday, October 28, 2024 at CAMC Memorial Hospital, following a long illness. Born on January 14, 1948 in Dry Creek, WV, he was the son of the late Speed and Evelyn Ash Scarbro.  Ronnie was a 1965 graduate of Marsh Fork High School, served his country proudly in the US Army for 3 years, and was a coal miner for 17 years, retiring from Beckley Coal Mining Company. Ronnie was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.  He loved his family more than anything.  He enjoyed politics, genealogy, nature/geography, working in his garage, being outside in the garden, and riding around in his side-by-side.  His greatest joy was his grandkids and he dedicated his life to taking care of his family.  He was always willing to help anyone in need.  Ronnie was deeply loved and will be truly missed. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Kenneth Wayne Scarbro and Charles Thomas Scarbro, and his nephew, Charles Thomas Scarbro II. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 47 years, Katherine “Kathy” Louise Spangler Scarbro, his daughter, Karen Lynn Scarbro, his son, Keith Allen Scarbro, his grandchildren, Katelyn Jolee Pettry, Allison Diana Scarbro, and Kolton Jack Pettry, all of Saxon Road in Fairdale, WV, and his brother, Terry Lane Scarbro of Masseyville Road in Rock Creek, WV. Also nieces and nephews that he loved as his own: Beth Charlene Scarbro Christian, Kimbely Ann Scarbro Poli, Kathy Jo Scarbro Rabalais, Kenneth Wayne Scarbro II, Kevin DeWayne Scarbro, and Speed Matthew Scarbro. Funeral services Will be held on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2024 at 12 o'clock, noon in the Arnett Chapel with the Rev. Lynn Halstead officiating. The visitation will be Wednesday from 6-9 at the church.  Pallbearers will be Kolton Pettry, Matt Worley, John Christian, Luke Scarbro, Charles Thomas Scarbro III, Jason Vance, Chris Sadler, and Jeremy Sadler. Ronnie will be laid to rest at the Scarbro Family Cemetery in Fairdale, WV.
