Russell Burdett Lares, 81 of Dry Creek, passed away Thursday October 2nd surrounded by family. Russell was born October 24th, 1942, at Eunice and was the son of the late Albert and Jessie Meadows Lares. Russell would speak joyfully of his Harold Brown regular greys that he raised and tended for years. Russell was the 4th person in the state of West Virginia to get his electrical license and was chief electrician at many of the mines in southern West Virginia. He and his wife Nancy were married in December of 1962 and enjoyed a long and fruitful life together. Nancy passed away on the 29th of Oct, they will be together once again. Left behind to cherish his memory are Son in Law Robert (Bobby) Jarrell and devoted grandson Josh Jarrell, Grandchildren Uriah, Eli and Makiah, all of Dry Creek and granddaughter, Courtneigh. Sister Peggy Lares Cox; Caring niece, Peggy (Gary) Bone and a host of loving nieces and nephews. A special thanks to cousins Jimmy Meadows and Billy Meadows. Russell will be waiting for Nancy to get home from Church where she will be at 2pm then they will have graveside rites together at 3 pm. Family and friends are welcome to attend a Graveside Service in the Don Jarrell Cemetery on the Family Farm at Dry Creek, WV with Pastor Larry Kinder officiating. Armstrong Funeral Home is serving the family.
